Tall Boot for Petites with Short Legs

If you're short like me (4'11") and have wide calves, you know that it's nearly impossible to find tall boots that fit. I love my ankle boots, but I've longed for a pair that I can wear up to my knees with a dress or skirt. My ideal boot shaft would be somewhere between 12" and 13" which is way below the average boot shaft of 15".

I've been inquiring in petite groups and forums for months, and compiled these recommendations from fellow petites who have very short legs and average to wide calves. NOTE: I recently discovered that some stores count the heel in the shaft height measurement, not just the actual shaft height. But, the measurements listed can also be incorrect. For example, the Sonoma Goods boots were purchased by someone 4'11" who measured the length from the heel to the top as 14", but Kohl's lists it as 15.25".

The material is stretchy and can be folded under or over to adjust the height. The heel is 2.5" and they're extremely comfortable. DuoBoots Haltham Petite Shaft Knee High Boot - DuoBoots carries a petite line with calf width sizes from 11.8" to 20.9". The petite shaft length is 14.2", which is about an inch shorter than their standard size, but not ideal for someone with short legs. The price point is high but may be worth it if you have very large calves and have difficulty finding boots that fit.

DuoBoots Dalia Petite Shaft Knee High Boot - Comes in the petite 14.2" shaft, a 2.6" heel and eight different calf sizes.

Quince Italian Leather Block Heel Boot - Crafted from premium Italian leather, these boots have a 13.3" shaft height and a 16.3" leg circumference, great for wide calves. They were recommended by a 5'2" petite.

Princess Polly Elodie Boot - This boot is faux leather with a 3.5" heel and a visibly shorter shaft, although the height is not stated in the the product description.

Kohl's Sonoma Goods For Life Square Toe Boot - These boots were recommended by a 4'11" petite who bought them in 3 different colors. As mentioned above, the actual shaft height is 14" but Kohl's lists it as 15.25".

Lifestride Brinley Boot - Has a 13" shaft height and available in medium and wide calf sizes. The wide calf size is 16.25".

Dolce Vita Romi Boot - These understated luxury boots have an 11.8" shaft height and a 14.2" leg circumference. It comes in 3 different suede colors and pairs with casual or elevated looks.

Dolce Vita Adisen Boots - These slouchy wedge boots have a 12.2" shaft height and a 15' leg circumference. Comfortable and chic, they can go from the office to dinner easily.

Coutgo Mid-Calf Pointed Toe Boot - Budget friendly on Amazon, these faux leather boots have a short 7.48" shaft with a wide 15.35" calf circumference, and lots of 5 star reviews.

Syktkmx Slouchy Mid-Calf Boot - Also budget friendly with a 10.31" shaft with a 15.75" calf circumference.
