As spring and summer approaches, the search for the coveted comfy and stylish pair of linen pants ensues. As a woman who stands at 4'11", I know that this quest is extremely difficult. Like many of you, I've learned the tricks, like finding cropped pants that are meant to hit someone over 5'4" way above the ankles. If you're new here and trying to understand what makes a brand a true option for short women, start with my guide.
Over the past year, I have researched and gathered recommendations from hundreds of petite women and complied a list of the most recommended brands. Some of them work for extra short petite women if they are "petite cropped" or just plain "cropped".

European Linen Patch Pocket Wide Leg Pants - These versatile and polished pants have a high rise and wide leg, perfect for every day. They are good for taller petites with a 28" inseam.

Old Navy

High-Waisted Linen Blend Super Wide Leg Pant - This highly recommended wide leg version comes in a 27.5" inseam. They can be dressed up or down and reviewers recommend sizing down because they run a little big.

Kohls

Eileen Fisher

Slubby Organic Cotton Linen Full-Length Straight Pant - Straight leg pant with drawstring waist, made of super soft organic cotton. Petite size has a 27.5" inseam and a 10.5' rise.

Athleta

Retreat Linen Easy Barrel Crop Pant - The cropped barrel version that can work for shorter petites. Petite size has a 22.5" inseam and the regular has a 25" inseam.

After compiling this list, it's clear that there's a huge opportunity for the smaller, true petite brands to start designing linen pants. The larger brands on the list do offer petite sizing, however they're not quite there yet. For taller petites who have a 28" inseam, there are true, full-length options. If you're an extra petite like myself, we're still forced to choose a "cropped" option in order to avoid having to bring the pants to the tailor. For now I'll accept it, but I have high hopes for the future.
